How to convert gi files to iso files. Guide to convert dvd .gi images to .iso images.

How to burn gi files: once you have converted the gi images, you can burn the ouput iso files with most burning software: Nero, Alcohol 120º, Cdrwin...

You can perform a gi to iso image conversion in any of these 3 ways:

1. Using the Windows command line.

The key command to use is :

"copy /b file1.gi+file2.gi+file3.gi outputfile.iso"

Here you can download a .bat file wich uses that command to create an .iso file from 2 or 3 .gi files that must be located in the same folder as the .bat file.

gi2iso.bat

Usage: Enter "gi2iso.bat 2" of "gi2iso.bat 3" into the command line to join 2 or 3 .gi files respectively.

2. Using the program gi2iso*.

*It seems that sometimes this program does not join all the gi files, but only the first 2, so we recommend that you check that the output file size agrees with the adittion of ALL the input files (or to use another program).

- What's the gi2iso software?
gi2iso is a software which gathers *.gi files in an *.iso file.

- What's a *.gi file?
The *.gi file format is used by the software "Primo DVD". *.gi files are segments of ISO image files. This system is useful for non NTFS hardware.

- What's an *.iso file?
*.iso files are disk images of CDs or DVDs. The ISO image format is recognized by most burning software programs.

- Conversion steps:

1. Click on "Action, Choisir, Fichier GI"
2. Select the folder where the source *.gi files are located.
3. Click on "Action, Choisir, Fichier ISO"
4. Select the folder where you want to create the output *.iso file.
5. Click on "Action, Executer". That opens a console window and starts file conversion. Wait for 10-20 minutes, the console window will close automatically when finished.
6. Now you can burn the created ISO file with your preferred burning software.

3. Using the program ZW GI to ISO 2.0

This program is also very easy to install and use.

- Conversion steps:

1. Click on "Start"
2. Click on "Automatic concatenation" of gi files. You can also add .gi files manually one by one with "Manual concatenation" if the program does not recognize their names automatically.
3. Click on "Browse"
4. Select the first gi file. You can check the number of parts and the total size.
5. Click on "Continue" and enter the name for the output .iso file.
6. Click on "Continue". The program will show a message box when the conversion is finished. Optionally you can adjust the execution priority of the conversion process.
7. Now you can burn the created ISO file with your preferred burning software.
